Hundreds of happy brides and grooms have enjoyed the live music of the Diane Martinson reception Jazz Swing band at their weddings. Band combos feature familiar jazz hits, big band, ballroom, and swing dance favorites made popular by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Diana Krall, Nora Jones, Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé, as well as Latin styles. Cocktail / dinner music is provided with pianist, duo, trio or quartet, and reception dance music with the Quartet, Quintet, 6 or 7-piece. Great listening music, and Big Band style songs with a small size band; their value is terrific for wedding receptions.

Wedding entertainment is available in varied price ranges, from solo pianist and small group combos for the dinner to the Quartet, 5, 6 or 7 piece dance band. Diane offers advice on planning the music and the best combination of musicians for your particular wedding reception.

Instrumentation includes- piano, bass, drums, vocalist, saxophone, guitar & 7th pc trumpet. The band can provide a Portable Piano Keyboard, and sound system PA for indoor or outdoor receptions.

Whether the musicians perform background music at the cocktail hour & dinner or are the featured band at the reception dance, the live music infuses the room with vibrant energy!

What will be provided:

Guidance on planning the music
A band sound system PA will be provided, a portable piano keyboard and extra speakers are available.
We provide recorded music during our break. If you have specific CD's or iPod music that you would like played, please request our CD player or iPod connection in advance (no charge).
We are flexible with break times and will work with your schedule. A standard set of music is 45 minutes long with a 15 minute break. For example a reception dance from 8:00 - 11:00 would have three 45 minute sets.
Your choice of tuxes / formal or suit and tie / semi-formal to fit your celebration.
We will coordinate the set up and take down time with your reception location coordinator

Equipment & Space Requirements (click)

The Martinson Jazz Combos fit best with a minimum stage area size of 4' x 6' for up to three musicians, 8' x 10' for up to five musicians, and 10' x 12' for six jazz musicians

One electrical outlet is required. We can bring all the other equipment needed including up to 100 ft of extension cord if notified. Or request our battery operated equipment

Outdoor events -A covering canopy, tent, or building shelter must be supplied to protect our equipment and instruments from direct sunlight, precipitation, and windy areas.

We require 45 minutes to 1¼ hours of set up time depending on the group. It is preferable to know what time the room is available. In addition to prior planning, Diane will contact the location to arrange the details a week before the event.

Many Clients opt to start out with our solo pianist or small group for cocktail / dinner music and then add in musicians for dancing. Our Quartet is quite adept at both background music and dance music. Our Quintet and 6-piece also have dinner music, and are most popular for the dances.
